Summer 2013

Have a great summer, and good wishes from CVGF. Our C.E.D.’s (Chief Executive dogs) Rowyn and Bregha will let us know when you come by.  They love to alert us of our customers and we are always happy to see our customers new and old.

Our April Anniversary draw was a great success and all the “prizes” have been picked up. Thanks for participating.

Thanksgiving 2011

Our CED’s (Chief Executive Dogs) are starting to get trained they still need some more training! They are now 10 months old! Happy Thanksgiving.

Something to try for fall and winter:

Ginger Scones

2 c. flour, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 4 tablespoons butter (soft margarine); 3/4 c. milk, 1/4 c. crystalized ginger.

You may double recipe.  Do not add sugar when using crytalized ginger. You may also substitute 1 cup of flour for whole white flour, use can substitute 1/4 cup of ground flax for 1/4 cup of flour (the scones will not be as white but are still tasty).

Blend together flour, baking powder, salt and butter. Add ginger and milk. Roll out and place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 F. approx. 20 minutes or until lightly browned.  Enjoy with a good hot cup of tea!

April Update

Since our last update we had a family death.

After this our C.E.D. (Chief Executive Dog) died, Nesta, she was a little red fox coloured long haired Chihuahua, weighing about 7 to 8 lbs. and was 10 and 1/2 years old. She was very involved with the business, overseeing a lot of our work. She was always letting us know when our customers arrived. She wasn’t very friendly with many but us, we loved her.

We are presently training not one but two C.E.D.s. Rowyn a boy and Breagha a girl. Rowyn is a strawberry blond/tan, Breagha is chocolate brown with tan and white markings. Breagha has a sweet temper. Rowyn is a bit cranky. They are not quite 5 months old. They are hard to train as C.E.D.’s.

3rd Quarter Update

We had 116.3 mm. of rain in New Glasgow in July.  The hottest temperature was 29 degrees on the 7th, 8th, 17th and 18th.  The coldest day was 11 on the 3rd.

Remember, if your quarter ended on 31 July, then your GST is likely due on 31 August.
