Thanksgiving 2011

Our CED’s (Chief Executive Dogs) are starting to get trained they still need some more training! They are now 10 months old! Happy Thanksgiving.

Something to try for fall and winter:

Ginger Scones

2 c. flour, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 4 tablespoons butter (soft margarine); 3/4 c. milk, 1/4 c. crystalized ginger.

You may double recipe.  Do not add sugar when using crytalized ginger. You may also substitute 1 cup of flour for whole white flour, use can substitute 1/4 cup of ground flax for 1/4 cup of flour (the scones will not be as white but are still tasty).  

Blend together flour, baking powder, salt and butter. Add ginger and milk. Roll out and place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 F. approx. 20 minutes or until lightly browned.  Enjoy with a good hot cup of tea!
